This is what journalists call a 'rant' -- a list of complaints about how the world works.

But this differs from most rants in that I don't blame individuals. I may think that Billybooboo, the President-for-Life of Willywally, is a jerk but I realize that he holds power because a combination of public opinion and economic conditions in Willywally gave him that power, and force him to use it the way he does. I also know that if Billybooboo is deposed, the chances are that the new President Booboobilly will not be much different.

Governments pretend to lead a country but one Prime Minister who knew better was Disraeli -- who said "We must follow the people, for we are their leader."

Politicians come and politicians go but to change a country you have to change the people. This book explains some of the changes I think we need to make.

Some of the ideas in this book are radical but they are all practical, and none are based on any political doctrine.
